The Epigram as Icon 2020/21

These paintings made in the winter of 2020/21 combine my choice of proverbs and sayings that have meaning for me, plus some traditional Islamic examples. Depicted in Arabic square kufic calligraphy. The colours are based on the glazed tiles on Persian 14-16th century Islamic architecture. They are painted with acrylic inks on Khadi handmade paper and varnished.
